Each of the koshas must be nourished by proper life style and food for the physical body moderation is required in diet, sleep and general life style to prevent illness.
The mind must maintain balance with the physical body and be kept free of anxiety and stress. Each component of the whole is dependent on every other component for its maintenance and effective function.
They bring about the following effects.

(1) Activity and revitalizing the organs
(2) Toning up their functions
(3) Loosen the joints
(4) Stretch and relax the muscles
(5) Homogeneous distribution prana and develop stamina
(6) Develop deep internal awareness

As we discussed, according to Yoga, mind plays an important role because the problems
of disorder begins in Manomaya kosha. The long-standing uncontrolled surges of likes and dislikes, which cannot be mended by the directives from Vigyanamaya kosha. It percolates into pranamaya kosha. The clear lack of prana now becomes disturbed and violent resulting in irregularities in supply of prana to different parts of the annamaya body, manifesting as disturbed function and ultimately various diseases manifest. The process of manifestation of disease under goes into different phases and causes various diseases.
(I) psychic phase
(II) psychosomatic phase
(III) somatic phase
(IV) organic phase
